About HTG
The Holland Technical Group is an informal group started by a small group of people to learn stuff, share skills, and build things. Most of our members are located in and around Holland, MA.
Things we are working on. Also see our Projects page:
- A General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) repeater on 462.650/467.650 MHz (PL 141.3). Repeater will be available to the general public for every day use and emergency purposes. The repeater is in a temporary location to get it on the air until we have a better location and it covers the Hamilton Reservoir and areas around it. [Click here to learn how to get a GMRS license for your family]
- A Meshtastic (LoRa) network of nodes meshed throughout the town. This provides the potential for off-grid texting between nodes, temperature and humidity readings (if equipped) and lots of fun learning about this newish technology.
- We are also working to build up a cache of radio equipment (GMRS, MURS, CB, and amateur radio) to allow people to join in to our communications initiative as well as have radios available for emergency purposes.
- In the warmer weather we talk about gardening and creating pollinator spaces for wild pollinators. We also discuss a bit of preparedness for severe weather and other events.
- We delve into many other subjects, too. We are available to help members of the community... just ask us! [Contact us]
