1. Switching Between VFO and Memory (MR)
- Select the Active Side: Press the Volume/Squelch knob or Tuning Dial for the left or right side to make it the "Main" band.
- Toggle Modes: Press the [V/M] button on the front panel to switch between VFO and Memory.
- VFO Mode: The display shows only the frequency (no small channel numbers).
- Memory Mode: A small channel number (e.g.,
001) will appear next to the frequency or channel name.
2. Entering Frequencies in VFO
- Direct Entry: Use the numeric keypad on your microphone to type the frequency directly (e.g.,
1-4-6-5-2-0). - Manual Tuning: Rotate the Tuning Dial on the active side of the radio.
- 1 MHz Steps: Short press the Tuning Dial while in VFO mode to toggle 1 MHz steps.
- 10 MHz Steps: Long press (0.5s) the Tuning Dial while in VFO mode to toggle 10 MHz steps.
3. Saving a Frequency to Memory
- Prepare: While in VFO mode, dial in your frequency and any necessary tones or offsets.
- Start Save: Press and hold the [SET (F)] key for 0.5 seconds. A memory channel number will begin flashing on the screen.
- Choose Slot: Rotate the Tuning Dial to select the memory slot number (001–800) where you want to store the frequency.
- Confirm: Press the [SET (F)] key again to save and exit back to VFO.
- Verify: Press the [V/M] button to enter Memory mode and confirm your new channel is present.
